I have been looking for more Elihu Vedder works for a while and one of them was among my finds...<br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/ElihuVedder-HeadofaYoungWoman1898Large.jpg"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/ElihuVedder-HeadofaYoungWoman1898Small.jpg"><br /><I>Head of a Young Woman</I>, Elihu Vedder, 1900</A><br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/EdwinHowlandBlashfield-TheAngelwithTheFlamingSword1893Large.jpg"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/EdwinHowlandBlashfield-TheAngelwithTheFlamingSword1893Small.jpg"><BR><br /><I>The Angel with The Flaming Sword</I>, Edwin Howland Blashfield, 1893</A><br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/EdwinAustinAbbey-King Lear-CordeliasFarewellLarge.jpg"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/EdwinAustinAbbey-King Lear-CordeliasFarewellSmall.jpg"><br /><I>King Lear: Cordelia's Farewell</I>, Austin Edwin Abbey</A><br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/RolfArmstrong-ParisNude1919-1921Large.jpg"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/RolfArmstrong-ParisNude1919-1921Small.jpg"><br /><I>Paris Nude</I>, Rolf Armstrong, 1919-1921</A><br /></div>http://www.goodart.org/2004/05/some-obscure-finds.htmlbyoder@earthlink.net (Brian Yoder)http://www.blogger.com/feeds/9106305/posts/full/114273368268852903Sun, 19 Mar 2006 01:58:00 +00002006-03-23T21:06:30.950-08:00Frappr Group for GoodArt Fans<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Want to know where other GoodArt fans are? It's a study from the painting <I>Christ on the Mount of Olives</I>. The final painting is apparently fairly heavily damaged but may have been restored since this image was recorded.<br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/THeodoreChaisseriau-ChristOntheMountOfOlives-1840Large.jpg" TARGET="GoodArt"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/THeodoreChaisseriau-ChristOntheMountOfOlives-1840Small.jpg"><br /><I>Christ on the Mount of Olives</I>, Theodore Chasseriau, 1840</A></div>http://www.goodart.org/2005/11/chaisseriau-painting.htmlbyoder@earthlink.net (Brian Yoder)http://www.blogger.com/feeds/9106305/posts/full/113195498917151232Mon, 14 Nov 2005 07:15:00 +00002006-03-03T15:43:26.923-08:00Christie's Auction<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The same day I went to Sotheby's I also went to a pretty similar showing of auction items at Christie's. Here are a few highlights...<br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/Charles-AmableLenoir-LaBergere-Large.jpg" TARGET="GoodArt"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/Charles-AmableLenoir-LaBergere-Small.jpg"><br /><I>La Bergere</I>, Charles-Amable Lenoir</A><br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/PederMorkMonsted-ARiverLandscape-1897-Large.jpg" TARGET="GoodArt"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/PederMorkMonsted-ARiverLandscape-1897-Small.jpg"><br /><I>A River Landscape</I>, Peder Mork Monsted, 1897</A><br /><br />I was particularly impressed by the Monsted landscapes I saw that day, though I had not heard of him before then. There was a particularly impressive one called <i>A Wooded River Landscape, Deer Grazing in the Distance</i> at the Sotheby's auction tht was similar to this, but which was impossible for me to scan because of how it was printed in the catalog (it spanned the spine of the book). He was definitely an under-appreciated genius!<br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/AlexeiAlexejewitschHarlamoff-PortraitofaYoungBeauty-Large.jpg" TARGET="GoodArt"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/AlexeiAlexejewitschHarlamoff-PortraitofaYoungBeauty-Small.jpg"><br /><I>Portrait of a Young Beauty</I>, Alexei Alejewitch Harlamoff</A><br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/LuisRicardsFalero-AFairyUnderStarrySkies-Large.jpg" TARGET="GoodArt"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/LuisRicardsFalero-AFairyUnderStarrySkies-Small.jpg"><br /><I>A Fairy Under Starry Skies</I>, Luis Ricardo Falero</A><br /><br /><A HREF="http://www.goodart.org/blog/TheodoreChaisseriau-TheAngel-c1840-Large.jpg" TARGET="GoodArt"><IMG SRC="http://www.goodart.org/blog/TheodoreChaisseriau-TheAngel-c1840-Small.jpg"><br /><I>The Angel</I>, Theodore Chaisseriau, c1840</A></div>http://www.goodart.org/2005/11/christies-auction.htmlbyoder@earthlink.net (Brian Yoder)
